Deadlines

Its an irony that Deadlines are called Deadlines!
After all those are the times which attest that life is really present in the living.
Heard about the 80-20 rule?

  • That 80 % of the work is done by 20 % of the people
  • That 80% of the money is with 20 % of the people
  • That 80 % of the work is done in 20 % of the time allotted to
I would like to edit a little
That 80 % of the work is done in the last (deadline kissing) 20 % part of the time allotted to it.

Congruent or Similar?

Just wanted to share a set of shots that I captured recently. I clubbed them together as i felt that there is an element that makes them alike or somehow similar. I also faced a tough time while captioning these. Finally, I decided to leave them as they are.
Suggestions are welcome!

Cloud Kick!!

Last night, laying back on the terrace looking up at the sky, I became mesmerized by the clouds. The slow moving and transforming chaos filled my consciousness that I totally lost track of time.
I think there is a lot to be learned from them. Impermanence. Patience. Tranquility. All these and more are embodied in the life of the cloud. They are change at every level. The counterpart to rivers and lakes and oceans. Before the rain drops fall, after the water evaporates, there are clouds.

They are transcendently beautiful. Always changing, there is no way to truly capture a cloud. The moment they are there, they are gone once again. Never the same but echoes and patterns reappear and disappear with alacrity.
I love clouds. From low hanging wisps to roaring thunderheads. If the majesty of the earth are it’s mountains, then the majesty of the sky must certainly be clouds.

I’ve been on a cloud kick. I’m not sure why, but as of late I find myself looking up more, remembering what it’s like to be a kid searching for mystery in the sky. Living in a hustle, clouds are often taken for granted and most of the time uneventful.
The clouds are what make the sky look so interesting. To many, all clouds look the same - but as soon as one begins to visualise keenly, one realizes that there is more to discover than there is time to observe!

Why lie? Isn't honesty the best policy?

Well, the real question should be why not lie? Or actually why tell the truth?

Our moms and schools always told us not to talk to strangers.... right? And with ID theft being the fastest growing crime throughout world, why is it that we feel obligated to tell random people so much information about ourselves? Potential employers, banks, credit card companies, agents, phone, web and cable companies ask us all sorts of information about ourselves and our private lives. Our privacy and personal freedom is at stake right now because the system is set up, so the honest people fail and struggle, while the liars (the system administrators) and cheaters get ahead.
"How much do you make?"
"Where do you go to school?"
"What's your social XYZ number?"
"Are you only talking to me to get into my pants?"
"Bla Bla Bla!"
People are shameless and ask far too many intrusive questions these days. Quite frankly, the more honest you are in our society the more you'll be punished. Think about it for a minute, if a fugitive had a hold and asked you to tell them where your family members were, what would you tell them? Presumably not the truth.
So lying is the answer (the first line of defense) to protect our privacy and also for success. This post and the discussion it contains is NOT about lying to your family and your friends, it is about lying to those you are up against. Do you think any good poker player can do well by being honest?
What about morals? Upholding your morals is recommended and unaffected by type of "lying" this post intends to promote. You can tell the truth to your near and dear ones, to God during confession (reconciliation) or under oath. But how is it that we feel morally obligated to tell anyone else the truth? Why should we? We shouldn't. There are very few universal truths, the rest is just perception of what is reality.
Every successful person is a blatant liar, regardless of what field they are in. Think about it, all marketing is just lies wrapped in pretty packages. Acting is lying in motion, yet so many people admire actors, when all they are doing is lying about who they are on screen, being something they are not; and they even get accolades for it.
Now it's time for you to learn and find out the TRUTH about lies!

NOTE: Please dont try this at home :)

Work Of Art

" I am an artist at living - my work of art is my life "
These words of Suzuki ranks top of my favorite quotes. “My work of art is my life!!!” How true and philosophical!!!!

We appreciate paintings, sculptures, photographs, writings and many other art forms that we come across but most of us fail to understand that our own life is a canvas or clay or a rock which can be painted or molded or sculpt into a beautiful art!!! We are born, we live, we die … and in that lifespan, our life takes different cues, different changes, different adaptations, different colors, different forms that would determine at the end of the day – the value and the beauty of the art and if the world would declare it as a master piece or discard it as monumental mistake or just be forgotten among the millions of nameless art forms that are quickly forgotten and lost in the crowd.
I believe that it’s not purely necessary that we live a life that would be of a celebrity or known to millions across the world but live a life with a purpose and a meaning that would give inner satisfaction to us without hurting the personal space of others. How many of us are lost in this world doing things against the wishes of our inner self. How many of us are lost in the tangle of compulsions of different reasons that they have to sacrifice their real seeking. What I just want to say is, of course life is short but after sometime treading into the maze of things which we force upon us for various compulsions at least before out life ends, we should apply ourselves to work on the “real call” of our inner self – whatever it be and in whatever field it may be but of course in the right direction. Ok that’s all the life shastra for the day !
